Mark Moseley’s Straight-On Kicking DVD

There’s not a lot of straight-on kickers left in football these days, unless you count flag football and middle schoolers. But, if you’re looking to perfect your straight-on kicking style (I certainly am) Moseley’s training videos are now available on YouTube. Seems pretty simple to me…1 and a half steps and hit it in the sweet spot. This coupled with a single-bar face mask can earn you a 66% accuracy percentage and a NFL MVP award! The mullet/perm is optional.

Carl Weathers Plays Doug Williams In Vintage SNL Skit

This skit isn’t all that funny but neither was SNL during the late 80′s. I just never imagined seeing Chubbs Peterson playing Doug Williams.

Darrell Green > Deion Sanders

Ok, I’ll be the first to admit that the title to this post comes from a true Redskins homer and outside of the Redskins fan base you’re probably not going to find a whole lot of people who’ll agree with me. But, when you take a look at the two players career stats, it seems as though an argument for Darrell certainly deserves merit.

Seasons - Green 20 Sanders 14
Games - Green 295 Sanders 188
Pro Bowls - Green 7 Sanders 8
Tackles - Green 1,197 Sanders 512
Int’s - Green 54 Sanders 53
Defensive TD’s - Green 8 Sanders 10

The only area where Sanders clearly held an edge was in the kick/punt returns category and All-Pro selections. Sanders had 7 All-Pro selections to just 1 for Green. However, Green only returned punts in key situations for the Redskins (see 1987 Playoffs) while Sanders specialized in the return game for his entire career. It’s also worth noting that by season 12 Sanders skills were diminishing…you know, around the time he joined the Redskins. In Sanders 13th and 14th seasons he was a nickel corner and free safety. Darell Green made the Pro Bowl in his 14th and 15th seasons!

As far as the video, I couldn’t help thinking that if it were Deion who had hurdled Cap Boso in that 87′ playoff game against the Bears…Sanders would have had an aneurysm celebrating on his way to the end zone. Green played his 20 seasons with a certain style and grace that I guess only true Redskins fans can love. The ‘World’s Fastest Athlete’ highlights at the beginning of the above video are simply awesome.

Ripken Card Montage

I once aspired to collect every Cal Ripken card ever made…that was until I realized there were like seven thousand different ones. If you have 15 minutes to kill you can see all (or at least most) of them in amazing detail.

Redskins Chances Of Winning The Super Bowl Are 100/1

Las Vegas has set the 2012 Super Bowl odds and it’s safe to say that they’re not the least bit impressed with the Redskins. Vegas has set the Redskins line at 100 to 1 odds on winning this years title. Meaning, if you and 9 of your friends each contributed 10 bucks towards a $100 bet and John Beck somehow led the Redskins to the promised land…you’d each be $1000 richer. Not a bad return on your investment…but a dumb bet nonetheless.

I guess I’m a cup half full kind of guy because this was my initial reaction to our chances:
