RJ:Training Camp Day 31

Reggie Jones is posting his training camp journal on this site, please check back often to follow Reggie on his journey.

Woke up this morning and headed to the facility thinking we had meetings. To my surprise they switched it up, and we had practice to start it off. I guess it was in Preparation of Hurricane Irene’s arrival today.. It caught us all off guard.. My neck was still soar from the game. With a few other minor aches but I went ahead and pushed through practice. I can tell others felt the same way. lol

After practice, lunch, and meetings the head man threw us a bone giviN us the day off tomorrow to get our body’s back. (He’s good at gauging our health, and helping us w/ it)

Went to get a few supplies for Hurricane Irene. Then grabbed some food and a movie to watch w/ the fam.

We watched “#LincolnLawyer”
#ShowtimeMovieCritics: 3 out of 4 stars.. (Must see movie!! Story kept you wondering the entire time. It tied together very well)

Charged up everything in the house to make sure we had battery life if the power went out tonight. Also setup the basement just in case it comes down to that.

Heart goes out to those who’ve been affected already by the hurricane.. I pray it doesn’t hit us to bad during the night.

Bout to rest up for the night.

Goodnight… #DREAMINabout: “#HURRICANES” Doubters are my warm water. Believers are my warm air. The more I get, the stronger I grow.. HURRICANE JONES! ~$HOWTIME

RJ: Training Camp Day 30

Reggie Jones is posting his training camp journal on this site, please check back often to follow Reggie on his journey.

Woke up this morning FeeliN really soar from last nights game. (8 tackles will do that to you) lol.. I went to the training room so they could follow up on my head situation. (everything is fine)
After that and the ice tub, I went and watched the film from last night. (harder on myself than anyone else) I have to remain critical to Continuously get better.

Came home and watched a movie in the Man Cave with Wifey and Dash.. We watched #Limitless..
#ShowtimeMovieCritics: 3 out of 4 #stars.. (Must see movie!! Makes you put yourself in the situation. WHAT WOULD YOU DO?)

After the movie we went to Baby’s R Us grabbed a few things for Dash then went out to eat. A place called “Sweet Water” It was recommended to us, and I recommend everyone tries it. The pork chops were delicious!! Came home setup Dash’s toys then relaxed for the night.

Family time always makes everything feel better.. Glad my family enjoys hangiN out w/ me as much as I with them.

HittiN the sheets early tonight. Gotta let my body do its recovery thing through the night so I’m ready to roll at practice in the morniN.

Goodnight… #DREAMINabout: “#DEFEAT” I may lose from time to time, but im NEVER defeated. ~$HOWTIME

RJ: Preseason Game 3

Reggie Jones is posting his training camp journal on this site, please check back often to follow Reggie on his journey.

Woke up this morning to the sound of an alarm.. I had no idea what it was. I thought it was a weird hotel wake up call or somethiN, but it was coming from the wall.. I WAS SO CONFUSED.. (I was still 3/4 asleep) So I reached up and pushed the first “off” button that I seen.. When I fully woke up I realized I turned the air conditioning off, and the alarm kept going. lol
I was so sleepy. I stuck my head out the door to check. I didn’t smell smoke, didn’t feel the earth shake, and didn’t hear any boom sounds, so I covered my head with pillows and went back to sleep..lol

After meetings and the pre game meal I went back upstairs to lie down. Tried to nap again, but my mind was to busy. So I called Wifey and Dash to talk for a bit, then watched cartoons for a bit.

At the 1.5 hour mark I turned on Troy to get into my mode. I have so much to showcase. All I could think about all day was making plays.

Tic Tock

Hopped on the bus with my game day playlist on.. Emotions pinned up, swag turned up, ready to unleash $howtime on the field.. Tic Tock..
My impact circle is blinking..
As we rode on the bus, I layed back with my eyes low and a smile on my face envisioning the game until my long blinks became a quick power nap.

** SIDENOTE- Opened my eyes and I’m pretty sure I a seen a sign leading to a town called “SwagVille” .. Lol I may need to visit that place. lol Whoever named that town gets 100 cool points from me.. (= ***

When the bus pulled up to the stadium I felt all my emotions rise up. READY!!

As we were getting dressed to go on the field for pre-game warm ups it started thundering and lightening, so they sent us back in to wait for the lightning to pass.. It was HORRIBLE OUT THERE PRE GAME. im talkiN “Any Given Sunday Willie Beamen gettiN sacked in the mud bad”.

Gametime came and the weather cleared up. I played a solid game. (Not as good as I wanted though) I left some plays on the field. One in particular a pass I broke on beautifully went right off my finger tips. I GOTTA HAVE THAT!!! I HAVE TO!! Then another one I left my man to try and grab a pick on the other side, didn’t see the receiver and went helmet to helmet.. That put me out for a bit, I had to do a concussion test.

All in all it was just a decent game. Good coverage all night. Didn’t give up anything deep. I JUST HAVE TO MAKE THAT PLAY THOUGH. HAVE TOO!!!

Im goiN to bed. My head hurts..

O yeah we lost.

Goodnight… #DREAMINabout: “#NUMBERS” My maximum is endless… so when you think im done im always able go up higher! ~$HOWTIME

RJ: Training Camp Day 28…Welcome Home Luncheon

Reggie Jones is posting his training camp journal on this site, please check back often to follow Reggie on his journey.

Is that a B&G dessert?

Woke up this morning and headed off to meetings.. After meetings we had a quick overview walk-thru, which left me with about 45 minutes to get home and get dressed to hop on the team bus for our Welcome home luncheon. Good thing for me I stay less than 3 minutes from the facility (=

When we arrived in D.C at the luncheon hall I noticed EVERYBODY on the team was CheckiN each others suit game out. lol Grown men walkiN around nit picking at each others clothing preferences. I have to admit I was involved too, I was fresh though, so I dodged all the bullets. lol Some people on the other hand needed some help.. lolcouple rooks went out and bought matching suits, one guy looked like Willy Wonka, seen a dude rockiN 2 watches. “where they do that at?” (ALL PARTY FOULS) LOL We gave out a trophy for the worst suit, and it just so happened to be the one who was talkiN the most trash. KAREEM!! I laughed so hard. He had to give a speech and all, and received a gift card to Nordstroms. lol
The luncheon was fun. I sat with an interesting group of fans. We had good conversation the entire time. Also the food was good. ESPECIALLY THE DESSERT. It was a sorbet of some sort. I learned a few things about the Redskins history that I didn’t know before.
Oh yeah, I was asked to model some suits at an event in the next coming months. (Of course I said yes) lol Also I was put on to some interesting restaurants. I’m lookiN forward to trying them out.

After the luncheon we checked into the hotel to get ready for tomorrows game. I took a GREAT NAP! then ate dinner, meetings, showered up, prayed, and hit the sheets.

Tomorrow is gonna be fun. I’m excited! This game is broadcast everywhere tomorrow. Finally my people back home can watch me play.
Once again startiN on special teams and backing up D.Hall… It’s time to make moves. LEHGO!

“The Beltway Brawl”

Goodnight world.. #DREAMINabout: “#SQUARES” I think and live outside of the box.. There’s a lot more room out here.. ~$HOWTIME

RJ: Training Camp Day 27

Reggie Jones is posting his training camp journal on this site, please check back often to follow Reggie on his journey.

Thankful to wake up to see another day. Went to meetings, walk-thrus, practice etc. then hit the weights.. Today was a review day, so we got done a little earlier. Just kinda tying everything together before we head out tomorrow.

I came home, chilled with Dash and Wifey for a bit, then took a nap. (Still trying to catch up on sleep from those 15 hour days at the beginning of camp)

When I woke up, I went downstairs and all of a sudden the house started shaking. Ummm yeah, I missed the memo about the east coast gettiN earthquakes. lol The funniest part about the quake was watchiN wifeys reaction. She’s never experienced a quake before. All I could do was laugh.. lol

After the shake up, I went and ice tubbed.

When I came back home I heard one of the funniest quotes from a parent ever. It was funny because she didn’t know I was listening.

“DASH, WE DON’T HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING TOGETHER!!” Then 2 minutes later… “SON DO YOU HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING THAT YOU’RE NOT SUPPOSED TO DO”.hahahaha Maybe im just easily amused, but that was funny to me. lol

I started laughing then called him over to me.

We have our 50 year annual team luncheon tomorrow in D.C. That should be fun. HangiN out with a bunch of Redskins faithful, learning a little history, and sharing laughs; oh yeah and food! Im lookiN forward to it. After that we’re checkiN into the hotel. I think Baltimore is only an hour and change away from here. So it’s almost like a home game. Kinda weird. lol

I have some family in the Baltimore area. BeiN from the West coast I hardly got to see this side of my fam. So hopefully that can all change.

Goodnight… #DREAMINabout:

“#EARTHQUAKES” I’m gonna shake things up whether you’re ready for me or not.. ~$HOWTIME

Throwback Tuesday: The Last Word In Big D

Every Tuesday Fatpickled will stroll down memory lane and re-post a blog from the past. Why not start where it all began…with my very first post ever. Wow, was I drinking the kool-aid!

This post originally debuted on Sept 29, 2008.

The Skins went into Dallas this weekend as 11 point underdogs. No one in the media predicted any upsets, and to be honest, even the most die hard fans did not predict a W. But, this Redskins team is good, and they showed how good they are by dominating this game. Do not let the final score fool you, the Redskins dominated in all phases of the game, and proved to everyone that they are a force to be reckoned with.

Who would have thought that the Redskins would out coach the Cowboys? Jim Zorn came out with a great game plan, and his play calling was awesome. For the first time in 4 years, I have no idea what the Redskins are going to do on offense. During Gibbs 2, I could guess the next play 75% of the time. On the other hand, the Cowboys ran the ball only 8 times to Barber, and Felix Jones got ZERO carries. The Cowboys also had a crucial penalty, having 12 men on the field. This happened after a timeout! That’s COACHING! And you can tell that the coaches listened to TO’s whining. They tried to force the ball into his hands, and it just was not there.

I have to give props to the defense, excellent game. Portis ran strong, Cooley blocked hard, Tana is amazing, and JC is playing at an unbelievable level. Hip, Hip, Hooray!

Lets take care of business this week in Philly, and show everyone why this team is not only good, it is special! We play physical, we win!
