I first heard this song on WPRW on the AM radio of my parents car way back in the day. Over the years I had randomly searched for the tune thru Google & Youtube but never had any luck. Truthfully, my memories had failed me and I thought the song had been about Dave Butz and I thought the hook was “Big Bad Butz”. Thus the reason I never found the song. Luckily, Redskins fan Brendan Severo (@MWCRedskin) tweeted out a link to this video. I have transcribed the words below…I love this song and I’m glad I now have my memory straight.

DeMarcus Ware’s Depends May Come In Handy On Thanksgiving

DeMarcus Ware is in a Depends commercial…I’ll give you minute to let that sink in. A 29 year old athlete in the prime of his career is in a commercial about a product that promotes shitting yourself.

I fully understand that the commercial is done for charity and that the proceeds are used in an effort to promote prostate cancer. I am in no way trying to make light of cancer or what people who are dealing with it go through. I, like everyone else, have lost a loved one to cancer…F&*K cancer.

That being said, when a Dallas Cowboy is talking about wearing an adult diaper…that’s a blog opportunity that I can’t pass up. Clay Matthews and Wes Welker also star in the commercial, they should put Depends in the gift bags they hand out at the Pro Bowl.

On a side note I sharted as I wrote this post.

Rare Find: 1983 Washington Redskins Basketball Team

While rummaging thru some of my Redskins memorabilia I’ve collected over the years I came upon the above gem. It’s a flyer for a ‘Redskins-Basketball’ exhibition game that was sponsored by The Record Den. I attended the exhibition game which was held at Stonewall Jackson HS in Manassas, VA sometime in 1983.

The back of my flyer was signed by Todd Leibenstein, Rich Milot, Tony Peters and Art Monk. According to the notes that I wrote on the back, there were actually 2 games played that night. One saw the Redskins defeat the Manassas Journal Messenger by a score of 39-35. The other game featured the Redskins vs. The Coaches and the Skins won that game 35-34.

I do remember the game and collecting the autographs after. Somewhere, I have photos of the games but I’ve yet to find them. I wish I could remember what kind of low-post game Joe Jacoby had or what type of ball-handling skills Joe Washington brought to the table but I was only 9 years old at the time and I’ve had a shit ton of beers since then.

The Record Den’s flyer brings it’s own amount of awesomeness to the table. The pictures of the latest technology (Walkmans, projection tv’s and Colecovision) send me further down memory lane. Remember, The Record Den can handle all your antenna needs.

I never took my autographed flyer to The Record Den to receive my “special discounts” so I’m worried that I may have missed out on 10% off Frogger. No worries, I was always an ’Erol’s’ kid anyway.

5 years ago the Redskins signed London Fletcher to a 5 year $25 million dollar contract. I don’t think it’s a stretch to call this signing the best free agent acquisition during the Dan Snyder era. All Fletcher has done during his tenure is play in all 80 regular season games, collect 705 tackles and earn 3 Pro Bowl trips. Along the way he also was chosen as a finalist for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, an award to merit his off-field community and charity involvement. Somehow, he also found the time to become a reality show TV star as a judge on ‘The Voice’.

Haha, I kid about the Cee Lo Green reference, but even his teammates have seen the resemblance. In all seriousness, London Fletcher is the anti Albert Haynesworth…London Fletcher is a consummate professional. He played middle linebacker 12 seasons before making the transition to inside linebacker in the 3-4 defense. Fletcher never said a negative word about the transition and has thrived in Jim Haslett’s defense, making 2 straight Pro Bowls to go along with 302 tackles over the last 2 seasons.

Fletcher clearly hasn’t lost a step, in fact, one could argue that he’s getting better with age. London is the heart of the Redskins defense and one of the true leaders on a team that lacks leadership. In my opinion, resigning Fletcher is a must for the Redskins.

When It Comes To The Redskins I Have Plenty To Be Thankful For

Sometimes, although not intentional…I believe that my site gives off negative vibes towards the Redskins. I guess the 13 wins and 29 losses over the past 3 seasons have contributed to the negativity. The truth is I love the Redskins more than most things in life and they’ve given me many things to be thankful for over the last 30+ years.

Mark Moseley’s Straight-On Kicking DVD

There’s not a lot of straight-on kickers left in football these days, unless you count flag football and middle schoolers.
